If you register for an account to leave reviews, your username and review content are visible publicly on the relevant business listing page. Your email address is never shown publicly. You can edit or delete your own reviews at any time from your account page, and you can request full account deletion by contacting us.
Mad Raccoon Studios is our associated games and apps studio, connected to In The Highlands as part of the same wider group of projects. This section explains what data our apps — 282Club and the upcoming Hill Climb Hiker — collect, in addition to the general information above. Where an app is distributed through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, that store's own data-safety disclosures and privacy terms also apply, alongside this policy.
282Club is a Munro-bagging tracker for Android. To provide its core features, the app collects:
You can delete your climb logs and photos individually within the app, or request full account and data deletion by contacting us at the email below.
Hill Climb Hiker is currently in development. We'll update this section with full details of what data the game collects (for example, save/progress data, or any online/leaderboard features) before it's released, and any additional consent needed will be requested within the app itself at that time.
We keep account information for as long as your account remains active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain certain records by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@inthehighlands.com and we'll respond as quickly as we can.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage and protections against common web vulnerabilities. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
